Enjoy the beautiful historical monastery (open in 1336) of the Religious Order
of "Certosini". The Certosa of Pisa is an architectural masterpiece and one
of the most important monasteries of the Religioius Order of "Certosini" ever
built. The building site was open in 1336 but new works on the church, the
chapels, the monk's room were made until the XVIII century. Since 1981, the
"Certosa di Pisa" hosts a Museum of Natural History. The Certosa is 3 Km from
Pisa and it overlooks a tipycal Tuscanian village named Calci which can also
be visited (indeed, the Certosa is often referred as the "Certosa di Calci").
