Panel on "Post 9-11 Networking Challenges"The WTC attack on September 11 has revealed vulnerabilities in our communications systems. In the aftermath of the attack it is clear that there is a need for new thinking to come up with more effective emergency communications that allows victims, their families and rescue workers to communicate. The panel will discuss the latest thinking by governmental and regulatory bodies, industry, agencies, standards bodies and academia on how to build more resilience into wireless and wireline networks to make them more responsive in the face of national and international disasters. Organizer and Chair: Andrew T. Campbell, Columbia University Panelist: Randy Katz, University of California, Berkeley |
