I hold a Ph.D. in information engineering from the University of Pisa, Italy (June 2003). I received my M.Sc. degree in telecommunications engineering from the same university in 1999. Since January 2003 I am an researcher at the Institute for Informatics and Telematics (IIT) of the National Ressearch Council of Italy (CNR).
My current research interests concern various topics in the broad areas of Cyber-Physical Systems and Smart Cities, ranging from the design and implementation of network architectucures for the Internet of Things, the definition and performance evaluation of network protocols for mobile networks and wireless communications systems (5G in particular), to the modelling and control of green and one-demand mobility systems, and energy efficient buildings. More details are available here. A list of the most recent research projects I am involved in can be found here.
This is my Curriculum Vitae et Studiorum updated July 2016.
